Going Out of Business

It’s not fancy, big or overstaffed, but the tiny BooksPlus bookstore at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G Street) is beloved. Fans who cherish its used books and posters, bookmarks, greeting cards and small gift items will mourn its closing on Friday, December 30. Stationed in front of the Business, Science and Technology area, the bookstore is being shuttered to make way for Phase I renovations on the first floor. But all is not lost: despite the closing, book sales—which help fund new library books and materials—will continue. Meanwhile, all books at the store will be on sale for $1 from December 1 through December 30.
