We are pleased to present the State of Downtown 2019 report, produced by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID). This annual economic development report presents data and analysis highlighting the performance of DowntownDC’s economic sectors. The State of Downtown Report provides current and historical data related to current development, employment, the office market, hotels, tourism and conventions, culture and entertainment, shopping and dining, the residential market, transportation, the public realm and information about the BID’s operations.
This year, while we are proud to present the 2019 State of Downtown report, we are keenly aware of the catastrophic impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having and will continue to have on every aspect of our lives.
