Clients at The Center will be offered a seated lunch Monday-Friday from 11:30am-1pm. Servers are needed to bring meals to dining tables during that time as well as provide light clean-up assistance. This opportunity is ideal for teams of 3-5 people who enjoy volunteering together. Individual volunteers are needed for lunch service as well as throughout the day to help provide coffee and snacks to clients.

Volunteers are needed to assist guests in operating washing machines and dryers daily at The Center and answer questions they may have about doing laundry.

Clothing

Volunteers are needed to assist guests in choosing clothing from the clothing closet, helping to sort clothing donations and assisting clients in making their selections.

Clothing Donations

The Center relies on donated items to operate a clothing closet for men and women in need of seasonally appropriate clothes, including outerwear and shoes. Clothing should be clean and in good repair. Jackets, coats and shoes are welcome in adult sizes. Clothing donations may be dropped off at The Center’s reception desk during the hours of operation, M-F from 9am-5pm. If your office, apartment building or church would like to sponsor a clothing drive to benefit The Center’s clothing closet, please contact The Center at center@downtowndc.org.
