WASHINGTON, DC— The board of directors of the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) announced today that Richard H. Bradley will be relinquishing his role as executive director to focus his efforts on long-term projects critical to the city of Washington, D.C. and the DowntownDC BID. Bradley has served as executive director of the DowntownDC BID since its inception in 1997.
“We want to thank Rich Bradley for his 19 years of dedicated service to the downtown,” said Board Chairman Michael McCarthy. “During this time we have seen not only the BID grow and become increasingly effective, but we have also seen a remarkable transformation and renaissance of downtown Washington, D.C.”
Bradley today released a letter outlining his decision to ask the BID executive committee to accelerate their five-year succession plan.
In addition to his tenure as executive director, Bradley headed up the BID planning committee, which began its work in 1995. Bradley, 72, will now assist in the BID’s transition as well provide strategic guidance to the organization and in consultation with the chairman and the new executive director.
The board will establish a search committee and solicit the assistance of a national search firm to begin the process of seeking a new executive director for the DowntownDC BID.
