The DowntownDC BID Welcomes New Retail Strategy Manager, Emily Mooney

Emily Mooney will be joining the DowntownDC Business Improvement District this month as a Retail Strategy Manager. In this new role, Emily will develop and lead the BID’s retail strategy to increase downtown shopping from 700,000 SF to 1 million SF and activate more ground floor retail space with a potential pop-up program. In addition, she will focus on building relationships with the BID’s property owners, property managers, retailers and brokers to help her in the development and implementation of the retail strategy.

Emily brings 15 years of experience and a diverse skill set to DowntownDC, most recently serving as Property Marketing Director for Regency Centers, a Fortune 500 real estate investment trust (REIT), with local offices in Tysons Corner, VA.  In this role, she led retail leasing support, marketing strategy, communications, community and municipality outreach, and brand development for a national portfolio of 422 retail and mixed-use properties, including Market Common Clarendon (Arlington, VA), Belmont Chase (Ashburn, VA), and The Field at Commonwealth (Chantilly, VA). Emily earned an Associate in Arts degree in Graphic Design and Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and is pursuing her Masters of Science in International Business Administration from SOAS University of London.
