District Sustainability Awards
The annual District Sustainability Awards are coming up. Each year the District awards businesses, organizations, and individuals that are working to make a more sustainable DC and that supports the Mayor’s Sustainable DC Plan. Examples like water conservation, pollution prevention, resource conservation, low impact development, and green building construction.
Applications for 2020 Sustainability Awards are due March 13 and more information can be found here.
The Green Lease Leaders Awards
Another program acknowledging energy-efficient and forward-thinking companies are the Green Lease Leaders Awards. Green leases are leases in which building owners and tenants work together to maximize energy efficiency and sustainability. To date, the program has activated over 2 billion square feet of space. Recent Green Lease Leaders include Akridge, Boston Properties, JBG Smith, Jamestown, and Oxford Properties.
Companies can apply for the 2020 awards and learn more information about the program requirements here. The Deadline is March 31st.
