The free festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress, will feature more than 70 writers and illustrators, including George Pelecanos, who has written 15 crime novels set in and around DC, and James Patterson, who has authored the popular Alex Cross thriller series, also set in DC. Suspenseful stories not your cup of tea? Books in other genres—from history and biography to poetry and prose—will be available, as will authors such as Dan Balz, W. Ralph Eubanks, Nikki Grimes and Julia Alvarez.
