Learn about the life of a law enforcement officer at the District’s newest museum, the National Law Enforcement Museum (444 E Street NW). The museum will host a free Community Day for its Oct. 13 grand opening featuring a 5K run, entertainment, demonstrations, forensic activity, fingerprinting, caricature artists, face painting and more.

Aiming to educate visitors on the history of American law enforcement, the museum will feature engaging exhibits, artifacts and programs, some tailored specifically for youth, adults and families. Programs designed to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and their communities through thought-provoking dialogue will also be hosted.

The museum is located in Judiciary Square, across from the National Building Museum.
