Come January 2013, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) will move its 140-employee office from 1776 Eye Street to 1201 F Street, where it will occupy three floors and 50,861 square feet (SF) in the 12-story building. In search of more modern space, the Institute eyed about 30 other properties before settling on the 246,000 SF building, which has a two-story main entrance, Energy Star label and a 90% occupancy rate. Home of The Oceanaire seafood restaurant, the property won The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award from the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA) in 2003.
