The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) has selected D’Mario Headen-Vance to serve as the nonprofit’s new Information Technology Manager. As of today, April 12, Headen-Vance will oversee all the technical operations and systems functionality, with a focus on making implementation and cross-department collaboration more seamless. This work will improve the reliability of networks and systems and improve overall efficiency across all BID teams.

“I’m excited to work with the amazing people here at the DowntownDC BID, where I can show and share my knowledge and creativity using technology,” Headen-Vance says. “My plan is to help everyone understand that technology is your friend.”

Prior to joining the BID, Headen-Vance served as the federal technical account manager at Dell Technologies and successfully evaluated and implemented new technologies and systems to improve the IT infrastructure and provide support to several federal accounts.

Headen-Vance began his career in technology at the cross sections of K-12 education, higher education, and the private sector, which aligned him with a futuristic and creative approach to IT solutions. He holds a bachelor of science in information technology with a minor in forensic science from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
