Capital Fringe Volunteers Sought
Can you believe it’s almost that time again? The Capital Fringe Festival, the adventurous, open-access performing arts fete, will return to DC and Downtown for an 18-day run beginning on Thursday, July 12 and culminating on Sunday, July 29. With 138 different shows unfolding in 14 venues—the biggest Fringe ever—hearty volunteers are needed. And not just anyone—you must be on time, positive, respectful, clean, awake and sober (yes, clean, awake and sober—the Festival’s rules, not ours!). Help is needed in Fort Fringe (607 New York Avenue), the combination box office, Baldacchino Gypsy Tent Bar and multiple-theater site. In return for your services, you’ll receive one voucher for a free ticket to a show for each shift worked. So, the more you work, the more free shows you’ll be able to enjoy. Interested? To register as a volunteer, fill out this simple form. For more information, send an email to volunteer@capitalfringe.org. By the way, the Festival’s first volunteer Happy Hour will be at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6th, at Nellie’s Sports Bar. It’s an opportunity to mingle with fellow volunteers and have your questions answered up close and personal.
