A Springtime Celebration of Music and Nature in the City
Jazz & Blossoms returns to Franklin Park on Sunday, April 7th, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dive into the rhythm of spring as Franklin Park transforms into a vibrant oasis of beauty and nature in the city with a musical backdrop, celebrating the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
This free outdoor extravaganza promises a harmonious blend of Grammy award-winning hip-hop trio Digable Planets along with the eclectic sounds of DJ John Murph, Kassa Overall, Madison McFerrin, JoGo Project, and the legendary Sun Ra Arkestra, creating an atmosphere that resonates with the spirit of spring.
Franklin Park, the District’s largest downtown green space, will burst into life with an array of activities for all ages. For the little ones, the kid’s zone awaits with face painting, balloon artistry, and other delightful children’s activities. Channel your inner poet at the Haiku writing station, challenge your friends in the game zone, and marvel at art installations scattered throughout the park.
Indulge your senses at the vendor market and sip on refreshing spring-inspired mocktails. Don’t forget to dress in your most artsy, floral-inspired spring attire.

This event expects to welcome more than 1,000 people and serves as a bookend to the Words Beats & Life Festival, taking place Tuesday, April 1, through Sunday, April 7.
