Silver Lyan Celebrates Cherry Blossom Season with a Hanami Pop-Up: A Limited-Edition Japanese Menu

Inspired by hanami, the Japanese custom of flower viewing, and the original 1912 gift of cherry trees from the people of Japan to the United States, Silver Lyan is once again transforming into a subterranean floral wonderland filled with clever cocktails and a limited-edition food menu from Masako Morishita, the James Beard-nominated chef of Perry’s.

Tuesday, March 19th kicks off the nearly two weeks of cocktail specials and Japanese-American bar bites from Morishita, when Silver Lyan will transform to a cherry blossom fantasyland. The closing party, on Saturday, March 30, will feature DJs, entertainment and all the unexpected delights Silver Lyan is known for.

Food Menu:

  • Hanami Picnic Bento Box: Spam musubi “onigirazu”, miso-togarashi peanuts and sesame zucchini pickles served with a split of Laurent-Perrier Harmony Champagne
  • Tater Tots with shiokoji ranch, scallions
  • Karaage Fried Chickenmarinated skin-on chicken thighs in potato-starch batter
  • Strawberry Fruit Sando: mascarpone cream, milk bread

Cocktail Menu:

  • Sakura Silver Service: Roku gin, Haku vodka, sakura vermouth, pickled garnishes
  • Lemon Gardenia Sour: Haku vodka, lemon sake, gardenia phosphate, soda
  • Daifuku Punch: Legent bourbon, strawberry cream, red bean orgeat, twig tea
  • Kasugai Kosmo: Toki gin, muscat sour mix, Buddha’s Tears, candy wrapper
  • Green Tea Jell-O Shot: Toki gin, lemon myrtle, Laurent-Perrier chaser
