On Saturday, February 8, join Planet Word in celebrating Black History Month with a special screening of TALKING BLACK in AMERICA: SOCIAL JUSTICE, the fifth program in the Emmy award-winning TALKING BLACK in AMERICA documentary series. This final episode in the series examines bias against African American language and how people who use the vernacular face discrimination in areas ranging from education to housing to employment.
Stick around following the screening for a Q&A with featured experts, linguist Minnie Quartey Annan and Tony Keith Jr., poet, spoken word artist, and Hip-Hop educator, who will conclude the evening with an inspiring performance.
