Look for the city’s new green, multi-space meters, which will begin popping up in Downtown this weekend, including near the Verizon Center and the theatre district.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is putting the finishing touches on installing 101 multi-space meters in Downtown, including 31 near the Verizon Center that will be activated and ready for use on May 1, and along two main avenues in northwest DC. They will replace 845 single and double space meters starting this weekend and extending over the next few weeks, including in the following Downtown BID area locations:

· 300-900 block, 7th Street
· 500-800 block, H Street
· 400-800 block, 6th Street
· 600-1400 block, E Street
· 600-1400 block, F Street
· 1300-1400 block, Pennsylvania Avenue
· 500 block, 8th Street
· 500 block, 13th Street
· 400-500 block, 12th Street

Multi-space meters are solar powered devices used to manage multiple parking spaces within a one-block area. They are user friendly and require only a few steps to operate. Additional meters will be installed in Greater Downtown early this summer. More information about the DDOT parking program is available at www.ddot.dc.gov.
