Take the Federal Urban Design Initiative Survey

If you think federal public spaces, campuses and buildings are slightly daunting and can be spruced up and more inviting, you’re not alone. The National Capital Planning Commission (401 9th Street) recently released its Draft Urban Design Element for the Comprehensive Plan for the National Capital Region, which basically asserts the same viewpoint. The draft urban design element contains new policies designed to guide the physical development of federal buildings, campuses and public spaces in and around Washington to make them more livable, functional, and sustainable. What do you think? NCPC wants to hear from you. To browse the policies and log your comments, click here. The survey is open to the public until Monday, December 31.
