Fighting Hunger
Share Our Strength’s 22nd Annual Taste of the Nation fundraising event to end childhood hunger will be held on Monday, April 12, at the National Building Museum (401 F Street). Award-winning local chefs and mixologists will help create a culinary night to remember.
Decadent cuisine, tantalizing cocktails and eclectic wines will prevail as more than 60 of the city’s finest restaurants, including Downtown’s Charlie Palmer Steak House (101 Constitution Avenue), gather to ensure no child goes hungry. The event, featuring live entertainment by local DJs and a luxurious auction, will take place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a VIP reception at 6:00 pm.
All proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength’s efforts to promote awareness about childhood hunger. The national nonprofit has raised more than $73 million for organizations in the US and abroad, including more than $1.5 million in DC, where nearly 24,000 children struggle with hunger.
General admission tickets cost $85; VIP tickets are $125. They can be purchased at www.tasteofthenation.org/washington, or 877.26-TASTE.
