Want to get out of traffic for good when you retire? WalkScore, a neighborhood ranking site, recently placed DC No. 4 on a list of 10 cities where you can retire without a car. Only Boston, San Francisco, and New York City ranked higher and had better walk and transit scores. Thanks to the accessibility provided by Metrobus and Metrorail services, residents of DC’s most happening neighborhoods “have their entire world within walking distance,” according to an article by The Street, a leading digital financial media company. Perhaps the streetcar’s eventual emergence will help us nab first place?
