The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) invites you to view our new fiscal year 2018 Annual Report, which details a strategic year focused on future growth and serving the DowntownDC community.   

“We are pleased to report that the DowntownDC BID in fiscal year 2018 hit several major milestones that laid the groundwork for significant future growth benefiting the DowntownDC community. This included advancements related to homeless services, the redevelopment of Franklin Park and improvements to additional public spaces and establishing new, fruitful partnerships to better support our stakeholders and our shared community,” BID President & CEO Neil Albert and Chairman of the BID’s Board of Directors Randall Boe wrote in the report.   

Highlights for FY18 (Oct. 1, 2017-Sept. 30, 2018) include: the DC Department of Human Services (DHS) awarding the BID a $1.7 million grant to open the Downtown Day Services Center to support individuals experiencing homelessnessthe BID’s role in helping to fully capitalize the city’s $500,000 Landlord Partnership Fundthe awarding of the design and engineering contract for National Park Service site Franklin Park and more.  

The core of the organization, the BID’s clean and safe services, remained a priority and a focus with over 70 Safety/Hospitality and Maintenance (SAM) ambassadors continuing to work 362 days a year to keep DowntownDC clean, safe and welcoming. SAMs removed 166,658 bags of trash and 57,429 bags of recycling in FY18. A total of 52% of thBID’s FY19 budget is for Public Space Operations.
