DowntownDC workers, residents and visitors will join together on America’s main street July 1 to watch the USA vs. Belgium game when Washington, D.C. shuts down Pennsylvania Avenue to hold a free World Cup Viewing Party right on Freedom Plaza (1445 Pennsylvania Ave NW).

Get free front-row seats for the big screen being set up in Freedom Plaza care of Mayor Vincent C. Gray along with the DowntownDC BID, Events DC, D.C. United, DC Water, Akridge, Pepco and CBS 94.7. The game will be on display for the public, who are permitted to bring lawn chairs and blankets. DC Water will keep you hydrated.

The game starts at 4 p.m., but come early to get a spot and enjoy a pre-game kickoff beginning at 3 p.m. with emcees Tommy McFly and Kelly Collis from 94.7 Fresh FM.

Due to street closures and parking restrictions in the area, interested attendees are encouraged to take Metrorail to either the Metro Center or Federal Triangle station to get to Freedom Plaza or utilize Capital Bikeshare. Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th streets, E Street NW between 13th and 14th streets and 13th Street NW from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue will all be closed for the event.

See you there!
