Downtown Day Services Center Offers Inside Look

The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) hosted a successful panel event, the Downtown Day Services Center 101: Learn. Ask. Take Action!  on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The morning consisted of a purposeful conversation around the Downtown Day Services Center’s (The Center) past year of operations — from funding to challenges to best practices. Speakers included BID President and CEO Neil Albert, DC Department of Human Services Director Laura Zeilinger, Pathways to Housing DC Executive Director Christy Respress and Moya Design Partners Founder and CEO Paola Moya. The Center opened on February 2019 and in its first year it has served over 38,000 individuals, provided 7,406 showers, run 3,188 loads of laundry, served 33,519 lunches, distributed 21,504 items of clothing, provided computer access over 6,728 times.
