Intially built to house a family owned bank, construction on the Washington Center Office Building or McLachlen building was completed between1910 and 1911. This building which is an example of classic revival architecture was added to the National Historic Register of Historic places in 1986. This 12- storey Class A, 324,000 SF commercial-use complex was renovated  in the late 1980’s,  and currently houses several business offices.
