CR8:BLK will host its inaugural Black Women Cinema Week at the Eaton DC. This five-day event will feature film screenings, panels, workshops, networking and more. All activities and film screenings will be from 7pm – 9pm each day. The main film screenings are free to the public, and the workshops and short film competition are ticketed events.
Black Women Cinema Week is an opportunity to celebrate and lift up the work of Black women filmmakers from the US and across the diaspora. The nonprofit organization CR8:BLK (Create Black) has a vision to create opportunities and provide spaces for Black/African women artists throughout the Diaspora to share their artwork while helping themĀ build networks that help them prosper creatively. Other collaborators for Black Women Cinema Week, include Meridian Solutions, What is Black Podcast, New Negress Film Society, and FilmFatales.
