The DowntownDC BID’s 16th Annual Downtown Holiday Market will officially kick off the holiday season with its grand opening this Friday, November 20, at 12:00pm. The market will operate daily through December 23 from 12pm to 8pm.

Operated by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) and Diverse Markets Management, this year’s market will move off its previous sidewalk location to take over two entire blocks of F Street NW, from 7th to 9th Streets NW. The outdoor shopping village’s increased footprint will allow for wider aisles on the street and guests can shop confidently in a safe and socially distant shopping experience in accordance with current COVID-19 guidance.

This year’s retail lineup will feature more than 70 exhibitors including Black-owned and minority-owned businesses from the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development’s (DSLBD) Made in DC program and this season’s trending styles from the BID’s District of Fashion Show local designer collections. Six food vendors will provide tasty treats and hot beverages, spread across the market.  Exhibitors will offer enhanced displays to ensure safety practices including contactless and convenient payment methods for purchases, and simplified product offerings and set-ups.

The market layout features a single entryway check-in located on the sidewalk of F Street in front of the National Portrait Gallery, streamlined one-way and properly distanced foot traffic managed to ensure circulation around the market’s back-to-back retail vendor tents. All affiliated market workers, exhibitors and shoppers will be required to wear masks or other personal protective equipment (PPE) upon entry and at all times within the market. Hand sanitizing dispensers will be widely available, easily accessed throughout the market.

With the move to this expanded footprint, the Market will add exciting and entertaining new features, offsetting the intimate and crowded experience of the past and without a stage or the confluence of sports fans and tourists.  Programming and enhanced items of the market will be announced soon.

Closed Thanksgiving Day,
Mondays Nov 30, Dec 7 and 14.
