- 13,000 federal, state and local law enforcement officer's names are engraved on this memorial. These officers gave their lives in the line of duty.- Visitors Center: 605 E Street, NWFacts from A Tour de Force....- Encircling a lovely plaza, are two simple low walls, "the pathways to remembrance", on which have been inscribed the names of nearly 14,000 American federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Groupings of lions and lionesses protecting their cubs adorn the entrances of each wall, symbolizing the strength, courage, valor, and the protective role of law enforcement professions.
