House Where Lincoln Died Petersen's Boarding House

(202) 426-6830
www.nps.gov/foth/hwld.htm

The dreary little room and the modest little rowhouse remain frozen in time, oddly appropriate as the death chamber of a plain man who rose to prominence and unprecedented power yet never lost touch with his roots. The federal stewardship of the house is fully appropriate, with simple plaques telling the simple truth that at that time, in this place, a great light of the world flickered and died.
