Driving Directions
From Virginia:
From Fairfax County and points west:
Follow I-66 until it becomes Constitution Avenue. Constitution is the southern boundary of Downtown. Taking a left turn on 12th Street will take you into the heart of Downtown.
From Richmond and points south:
Take I-95 north to I-395 north. Follow I-395 across the 14th St. Bridge. Stay to the right for the 12th Street exit. 12th Street goes under the National Mall and into Downtown.
From Maryland:
From Annapolis and points east:
Take Maryland Route 50 to New York Avenue. New York Avenue leads straight into Downtown.
From Baltimore and points north:
Take I-95 south. At the Capital Beltway (I-495), continue on I-95 south (towards Richmond) take Exit 22 onto the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. From the Parkway take the New York Avenue exit, and continue on New York Avenue into Downtown.
In the District:
From Northwest:
Take Connecticut Avenue to Dupont Circle. At the circle, get onto Massachusetts Avenue Eastbound. Massachusetts is the northern boundary of Downtown. Taking a right on 13th Street will lead you into the heart of Downtown.
From Northeast:
Take New York Avenue straight into Downtown.
From Southeast:
Take the 11th Street Bridge over the Anacostia River to the Southeast-Southwest Freeway (I-295). Take the 12th Street exit and proceed through the tunnel under the National Mall into Downtown.
From Southwest:
Take Seventh Street heading north across the National Mall and into Downtown.
