If you were looking to don your most artful accessories at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s (SAAM) annual ARTrageous Gala, better luck next year. This year’s swanky fundraiser has been canceled—not for a lack of interest, but because of ongoing renovations to the museum’s lovely Kogod Courtyard.
The annual benefit supports the Museum’s many free, public and educational programs—including the monthly jazz concerts and Family Day. Art lovers, contributors and benefactors, who have enjoyed past shindigs which have featured live jazz, late night dancing, a full bar, dinner buffet and hors d’oeuvres, are encouraged to continue much needed support for these programs. After all, the programs, if not the party, must go on!
Repairs are being made to the Courtyard’s four shallow pools and are expected to take several months to complete. For more information, including how to make donations, click here.
