Mayor Adrian M. Fenty appointed Emeka Moneme as Director of DDOT in January 2007. He served most recently as the chief of staff for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Mr. Moneme began his career with the District of Columbia government in 2000, working closely with the transportation director to develop the management case and legislative proposal for creating a cabinet-level DOT, and then helped facilitate its implementation.
