"De'Marco Head on the maintenance crew provided me with the upmost assistance. I had the most difficult time looking for 1712 I St. NW there was only one red shirt in sight. He gave the most concise directions, I was very impressed with his demeanor and the way he knew the city. His patience showed he's able to worked under pressure and juggle tasks simultaneously. Bright young man!"

"My comment is regarding an employee of yours, his name is Robert Crowe. On 6/25/10 Robert approached me and my boyfriend as we got off the metro center in DC. Let me say that with having almost 10 years of experience working in the customer service field, it's very easy for me to tell the difference between someone who is genuine and someone who is not. I very much appreciate Robert and the compassion and willingness to help people in need. He didn't wait for us to ask, he took the initiative and that showed he enjoyed his job. Thank you very much for employing people like Robert and hopefully the next time I need directions, there will be someone just like him there to help. Please don't hesitate to call or email me if you need for further information.

"I wanted to thank one of your employees, Alvin Chase, for his help and kindness. I had gone to a meeting a number of blocks from 14th and K Streets and parked my car in an unfamiliar lot. When I came out of the meeting it was dark and I was having difficulty remembering where I had parked. (I am also six months pregnant and was wearing high heels, to make matters worse!) After wandering in circles for at least half an hour, I came across Alvin Chase, who walked with me until we found the parking lot. Please let Mr. Chase and his supervisors know that he is providing a wonderful service and that Mr. Chase should be commended for going out of his way to help me."

"I recently was looking for a post Office. I asked Ron Lloyd for directions. Ron immediately pointed me to the nearest station. Then, when I said I was going the other direction, he directed me to the Post Office inside the lobby of the Department of Labor. I never would have found it without him. Thank you for having him on the street! "

"On a recent trip to DC, I became lost, a good person who's name is Catherine V. Thompson who works for SAM came to my aid. She escorted me to the rail system and had one of her work mates make sure I got on the right train to DC Reagan airport. Her above and beyond attitude guided me in the correct direction. I hope this gets back to her with my many thanks!!! "

"On July 27, my wallet was stolen from [a hotel] on H Street. Later that day, I was sent an email from my employer telling me that my wallet was found by one of the Downtown workers. The employee’s name is Jessie Riles. The credit cards and cash were gone, but I was so thankful to have the wallet back with my ID, insurance cards, etc. I greatly appreciate that Mr. Riles took the time to turn my wallet in. He saved me many, many hours of stress and worry. My husband attempted to leave a reward at the Downtown DC office but was told that was not permitted. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Riles, and we hope that his efforts can be rewarded.

Thank you so much, Mr. Riles."

We would like to thank you for the great job your SAM teams are doing in your wonderful town. We had the pleasure to visit your city last April and we were welcomed by a very friendly lady (one of your neighborhood concierges) called Vivian who took us to a shop we were looking for.You are offering a unique service that contribute to create a very special feeling in every visitor. Well done! If we could have an email address we could send you a picture of us together with Vivian.

"Last year, we were [in Washington] for two days; this year, three days; and next time we’ll need about a week. The city is beautiful, and I love the fact that you can visit so many fascinating memorials and museums for free. The people are very friendly and helpful. A red-jacketed concierge named Vivian located at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, near the Federal Triangle Metro, went out of her way to get us exact information on where we wanted to go. We love Washington. Thanks for all the wonderful things you do in this great city!"

"I wanted to let you know that I stopped one of the SAM members near the Washington Convention Center to ask for various information about the city. Her name was Vivian and she was the most pleasant person! She was very sweet, and made sure that I got directions to my destination. She noticed that I was by myself, so she even gave me an alternate, and safer, route to get to my destination. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated her thoughtfulness. Thank you for having such a nice service to visitors in your beautiful city. We greatly appreciate it!"

" I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to Mary Brown, who helped us outside the Metro Center station. Thank you for a wonderful service."

"I had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of Charlie Stevenson down by the Ford's Theatre. What a helpful and pleasant person. He provided me a map of the D.C. downtown area, and also provided advise on what to see. He took the time to talk to me and I have to say, you have a wonderful, friendly, helpful, courteous, and charming employee in Charlie. The whole "Downtown D.C." concept is a great one. Can't wait to come back! Also, I want to comment on Lincoln's Waffle Shop - great place to eat and very affordable. The people there were friendly and a lot of fun! I ate there every morning I was there (5 days)."

"When my family and I took a trip to Washington. We parked our rented minivan in a parking garage but failed to remember the name; the parking ticket was left in the glove compartment. We searched for the parking garage for three hours, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We were so exhausted. My husband and I had our two children, ages 5 and 6-1/2, and my elderly parents with us. Mohammed Mansaray approached us and asked if he could be of assistance. He was very kind and really showed concern for my entire family. He inquired of his co-worker, Barbara Alston, as to which garage our car could possibly be in. The only details we provided was that we parked on a basement level floor, exited an elevator that took us to a main, decorative floor, there was a sign outside that listed the hours of operation, we entered and exited from the same bay and we were 15 minutes away from the Post Office square where we picked up our tour bus. Barbara knew instantly the exact garage location, and Mohammed took us there. We wanted to offer them money for helping us, but Mohammed said, ‘No, this is what we are here to do. ’

We want to say thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. They were our two angels who helped us in our time of need."
