Transportation

One of the best amenities for Downtown residents and workers is access to a world class transportation system. With seven stops in the Downtown BID alone, ridership has increased dramatically over the last ten years. Weekend ridership at Gallery Place/Chinatown has shown some of the most marked increases, as riders come downtown to shop and attend MCI Center or other entertainment events. Metrorail is one of the BID's major competitive advantages, and while other areas in the region struggle with weekend vehicular congestion, visitors and residents can access downtown's amenities with relative ease. The transportation section provides ridership data for each BID metro station and reviews other modes of transportation in and out of the city, including bicycle, plane and car.
