Restaurants and Retail

With more than 60 Zagat-rated restaurants, 2 movie theaters and multiple specialty stores, retail has become a vital component in Downtown's renaissance. A critical mass of Downtown retail is developing along several corridors and program support through the BID and DC government is available to encourage future growth. Fashion retail is the latest newcomer, and residents, workers and visitors will soon shop at the new Downtown specialty grocery store, Balducci's. The Restaurant and Retail section provides an overview of the exciting trends that have characterized Downtown's retail development, and it breaks down retail square footage space by type of establishment and current status (occupied, vacant, future or potential).
