One of the most compelling aspects of Downtown DC's revitalization has been the growth in its residential population, perhaps most evident in the explosive increase in condominium sales. A primary key to achieving a "living" downtown, new residents support local business and have access to those amenities that make downtown such a special place to live. The Residential Population section identifies those areas within the District that are witnessing the most growth and places Downtown's condominium and rental market within a metropolitan regional context.
