Zola Wine and Kitchen (505 9th Street), the wine shop and chef’s test kitchen located down the street from its parent, Zola Restaurant (800 F Street), closed last month after opening more than three years ago. The trendy, 1,700-square-foot space that it occupied also included a cooking school and private dining space. ZWK offered about 400 different wine labels and Nouveau American cuisine. Stir Food Group, which owns Zola restaurant, Spy City Café (800 F Street) and Potenza (1430 H Street), now will feature some ZWK specials at Zola, which along with Potenza and Potenza Wine will honor all ZWK gift cards. An undisclosed restaurateur reportedly bought the ZWK space in mid-May.
