Usher in the Year of the Horse at the Chinese New Year Parade

See Kung Fu, traditional Chinese Dragon Dances, marching bands and more Sunday, Feb. 2 at the annual Chinese New Year Parade in DowntownDC’s Chinatown. 

The parade kicks off at 2 p.m. on H Street, NW between 6th Street and 8th Streets NW in Chinatown, conveniently located at the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro station. 

Grab lunch, then stick around to watch the parade, which includes the Chinese Youth Club’s Lion Dance Troupe and a firecracker finale and prizes. 

The parade, which is sponsored by the DowntownDC BID, in past years has drawn crowds of more than 40,000.

The festivities are sponsored by the D.C. chapter of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA), which was founded in the 1800’s to represent and assist the needs of Chinese-Americans.
