Solid Foundation in Changing Times is this year’s theme for the DowntownDC BID’s 2013 State of Downtown Forum, taking place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Newseum (555 Pennsylvania Avenue). The breakfast meeting will include a distinguished panel of local, regional and national experts, who will discuss Downtown’s economic future and highlights from the 2012 State of Downtown Report. Expect a lively discussion from the panelists: Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier, Washington Post columnist Robert McCartney, Events DC President and CEO Gregory O’Dell and Hines Managing Director Howard J. Riker. The State of Downtown Report is published annually and provides the best information available on the Downtown economy for BID members, property owners, commercial tenants, developers, investors and policymakers. It shows Downtown’s growth and economic trends and how they relate to the larger D.C. and regional economies. Look for invitations to the Forum by email soon. Capital Business, the weekly Washington Post newspaper, and the Newseum, an interactive museum devoted to news and journalism, are sponsors of this year’s event.
