I t ain't Manhattan, but...
The Downtown Business Improvement District has issued a snapshot of who's buying all those condos in the heart of the city.
It's a mini-Manhattan.
The survey shows that 70 percent of the nearly 800 respondents earn incomes of $100,000 or more, and 42 percent earn over $150,000. The breakdown is 55 percent female, 45 percent male.
Forty-two percent of the respondents are 25 to 34 years old, younger than you might have expected. As for education, 96 percent of them hold at least an undergraduate degree.
Gentrification? Sure. But it's also a population that needs little more than basic city services while funneling tax monies into city coffers to provide services to others.
Only 5 percent have a child under 18 residing with them. No surprise there.
