Douglas Development (702 H Street) purchased the former site of the short-lived Museum of Arts and Sciences nightclub and the Platinum Club (915 F Street) for $5 million last month. Don’t expect to see another nightspot. The company is marketing the property, aka the Equitable Building, to top retail and restaurant prospects.

The fire sale adds to Douglas Development’s growing number of historic buildings in Downtown, including the Atlantic Building (950 F Street), the new home of trendy retailer Anthropologie; 918 F Street; 1155 F Street, home to Guess, Pret A Manger, and Andrew’s Ties; and the Woodward & Lothrop Building, home to H&M (1025 F Street), Forever 21 (1020 G Street), and Zara (1025 F Street). The Equitable Place LLC purchased the former bank building for $10 million two years ago.
