If you like Chipotle Mexican Grill (601 F Street), you might love the company’s ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen concept, coming to 710 7th Street next year. The space, formerly occupied by Ruby Tuesday, will also house FroZen Yo, the self-serve yogurt chain. But back to the ShopHouse. Expect bowls chockfull of spiced homemade curries and sauces, fresh vegetables and herbs, artisanal tofu, meats sans antibiotics and added hormones—and the list goes on. The bottom line: the fast-casual restaurant will offer light, well-balanced fare. The first-in-the-country ShopHouse opened in Dupont Circle two years ago, and more are coming to the D.C. area.

Will it stay or won’t it? That is the question as it pertains to M&S Grill (600 13th Street). A sign on the door says the American grill specializing in fresh seafood and aged steak is closed for renovations. But a story in the Washington Business Journal says it’s been dumped by the parent company. Who to believe? Time will tell. Meanwhile, there’s a McCormick & Schmick’s still open at 901 F Street in Downtown. They, too, say the M&S Grill will reopen following renovations.
