Now that summer’s upon us, mobile food truck vendors are on the move. A few seen recently along Downtown and DC curbsides: Philles Phamous, Rolling Ficelle, Kababji Food Truck, Tasty Fried DC, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time. Philles Phamous serves up authentic Philadelphia cheesesteaks on hearth-baked Amoroso rolls from the City of Brotherly Love. Rolling Ficelle offers sandwiches on fresh bread made by Lyon Bakery, skilled in the art of gourmet artisan bread. Kababji’s menu includes Lebanese kebab sandwiches, platters and grab-and-go items. Tasty Fried dishes out fish and chicken, including wings, tenders and breasts, and also offers sides such as coleslaw and potato salad and sweet potato and pecan pies for dessert. Peanut Butter Jelly Time, serves, uh, peanut butter and jelly—along with bananas, cereal, bacon, etc. You get the picture.
