The architecture team heading up the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G Street NW) renovation presented design concepts for the library on Monday night to the public.

The concepts, presented to over 60 attendees by the team of Martinez + Johnson Architecture and Mecanoo, include “activating” the library’s Great Hall and creating a space for lectures, TED talks and other uses, opening up all three of the library’s floors, improving the library’s outdoor space and exterior, adding a ground floor coffee shop with WiFi, improving flooring and finishes and replacing furniture and creating a green roof space for public use.
