Yippee, no rain! The DowntownDC BID Workout Wednesdays class on Sept. 4 took place under clear skies with a cool breeze: 55 people turned out for Total Conditioning, making up for the exercise (a pound class) lost to the previous week’s rainfall.

We’re nearing the finale, folks. The classes, which began on July 10, will end on Sept. 25 after a 12-week run.

The remaining lineup:

  • Sept. 11 – Chisel
  • Sept. 18 – Yoga
  • Sept. 25 – Workout Wednesdays Finale/All-Star Bootcamp

Until we resume again next year, all are welcome to join the BID and our partners–Freshii (1005 E Street), City Sports (715 7th Street) and Crunch Fitness (555 12th Street)–at the remaining free, weekly sessions. A Crunch instructor teaches each class in the park at 13th Street between I and K streets beginning at 5:30 p.m.. The classes run about 45 minutes.

Besides a good workout, freebies galore are offered—everything from gift cards, coupons and water to T-shirts, water bottles and fruit. On Sept. 4, more than 20 prizes—the most so far—were handed out. They included one-week passes to Crunch and bluetooth speakers distributed by the BID.

Remember: A grand prize will be presented at the last class on Sept. 25. It will include a one-year Crunch membership; tennis shoes and a $100 gift card from City Sports; an ipod, courtesy the BID; and a Freshii gift certificate. To quality for this prize, you must attend at least three Workout Wednesdays classes.
