Going Green with Blue

See all of those blue recycling bins around Downtown DC? Using them on America Recycles Day, November 15, could earn you a free T-shirt, tote bag or button. The DowntownDC BID, PepsiCo and the Department of Public Works (DPW) partnered in March to place 363 PepsiCo Dream Machine recycling bins in Downtown, allowing the public to contribute to the city’s environmentally conscious efforts and goals, recycle with ease while on the go, and further advance the BID’s Greening Downtown DC initiative, incorporated in its Downtown ecoDistrict  framework.

To receive a gift, you must recycle your plastic bottles and aluminum cans in a recycling bin. While doing so would help make our planet a little greener, you would also help support post-9/11 U.S. veterans with disabilities. How? PepsiCo contributes to the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities–a free, national education program–based on the amount of recyclables collected in its recycling bins nationwide. So don’t forget to recycle on November 15, and every day!
