Before you know it the award-winning Capital Fringe Festival will return to Downtown for 18 splendidly eventful days, from July 11 through July 28. But first, the independent performing arts festival well-known for its original performances—from one-act plays, comedies, dramas and improvisation to musicals, dance, hip-hop and mime—is accepting applications from interested artists. Got talent? An itch to perform? The application deadline is January 7. Remember: Patrons purchased 29,000 tickets to the 2012 Fringe Festival, and artists received between 50-70% of the revenue. To learn more, attend a “How to Fringe” meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 22nd at Fort Fringe (607 New York Avenue). Also, don’t forget to spread the word that tickets for the biggest fallFRINGE to date are now on sale. From November 1st to November 18th, all three stages at Fort Fringe will showcase 14 productions of local and touring Fringe artists. More information is available on the Capital Fringe Festival website.
