The DowntownDC Business Improvement District will be hosting an Emergency Preparedness Seminar on May 1 focused on Disaster Loss Mitigation for Commercial Properties.

The keynote speaker for this event is Debra Ballen, General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS).  Following the keynote address, an interactive panel discussion with representatives from public sector agencies and the commercial industry will discuss disaster mitigation strategies for commercial properties and answer questions from the audience with a panel of experts representing:

  • DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency
  • Commercial Property Management
  • DC Water and Sewer Authority
  • ServPro Commercial Restoration Services
  • Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety

This event will be held May 1 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (1250 New York Avenue NW). The seminar is free of charge and all participants are invited to attend a complimentary networking breakfast beginning at 8:30.
