Ready for Action

Release Date: Friday, May 2nd 2008

Jessie Marlow is the Maintenance SAM of the Month for March.  While this early bird is on the 6 am Machine Team, we all know him as the capable talent coordinator of the SAM of the Month gatherings. Jessie is a multi-talented, high-energy performing artist comfortable playing the piano, acting and singing.  The native Washingtonian lights up when discussing family and reminiscing about trips Downtown to revel in Christmas window decorations at Woodies.  As a SAM, he has become a part of Downtown’s window dressing.  Jessie is proud of both Downtown’s revitalization and being an intricate part of it.  If you were to ever get lost Downtown, Jesse insists you ask a SAM wearing the distinctive red and white uniform for help. He or she will almost certainly know how to assist you, with pleasure.

The March Hospitality SAM of the Month is Michael Rashad Marshall, Sr., who joined the Safety Program last year. Michael has shown enthusiasm for his job and determination to do his best from day one.  A huge help to supervisors — from assisting as a radio technician to stepping in as a team leader when needed — he gets high marks for conducting very thorough surveys and written reports.  Before joining the Downtown SAM Program, Michael helped families find homes. No wonder he’s a SAM.  He admits he enjoys lending a helping hand, especially giving visitors and residents recommendations to many of Downtown’s superb restaurants, museums, shops and entertainment offerings.

Hats off to Jessie and Michael for jobs well done!
