Get ready to chow down when the Verizon Center (601 F Street) hosts its third annual Taste of 12 Luncheon on Friday, May 21, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Last year’s event raised about 60,000 meals for the Capital Area Food Bank.

Delight in mouth-watering fare offered up by more than 30 area restaurants, including a few of this year’s RAMMY nominees.  Indulge in everything from Chinese to pizza to ice cream. And all for a stellar cause—proceeds will benefit the Washington metropolitan area’s largest public nonprofit hunger organization.

For $12, ravenous workers, residents and visitors get to sample up to six lunch items per person from participating restaurants, including Acadiana (901 New York Avenue); Central Michel Richard (1001 Pennsylvania Avenue); Zaytinya (701 9th Street); The Source (575 Pennsylvania Avenue)—all RAMMY finalists—as well as Gifford’s Ice Cream (555 11th Street); Ping Pong (900 7th Street); and Matchbox (713 H Street), to name a few. Tickets will be available for sale on the day of the luncheon at the Verizon Center.

This charitable fundraiser is a Pollin family initiative to provide one million meals to those in need and serves as a way to celebrate the Verizon Center’s 12th year in Downtown.
