Behind the red curtains of the Macy’s Metro Center windows, little elves are rushing around putting final touches on this year’s holiday window display. What magical creations are they building?

Find out at the window-unveiling celebration on Saturday, November 23 at 2 p.m. along G Street, which will be closed between 12th and 13th Streets for the festivities. In front of Macy’s, enjoy a special performance of an excerpt from “The Nutcracker” from the Washington Ballet, and music from the Washington Performing Arts Society’s Children of the Gospel Choir. Look for appearances by Hollywood Records teen sensation Coco Jones, and star of NBC’s “The Voice” and the film “20 Feet From Stardom,” Sony Music recording artist Judith Hill. The Ballou High School Marching Band, Mayor Gray, and Santa Claus will join in to open the curtains and reveal Macy’s festive holiday window displays.

More merriment takes place inside the store with special discounts, photo ops with Santa and the stars, a children’s wonderland, and limited-supply vouchers for Nutcracker tickets with $100 or more Macy’s purchase. Don’t miss the fun as DowntownDC kicks off the holiday season in style!
