In honor of Abe Pollin, Wizards Care will host a daylong toy drive on Tuesday, December 8, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, at the Verizon Center (601 F Street).
Fans and neighbors can drop off a new, unwrapped toy until the beginning of the evening’s tribute to deceased Washington Wizards owner Pollin, who passed away on November 24. This tribute is a free event and open to the public.
Dunkin’ Donuts will supply morning treats and Papa John’s will provide midday snacks for all participants while supplies last. The Wizard Girls, G-Wiz, players and front office staff also will make special appearances throughout the day during the toy drive.
Wizards Care is a Wizards basketball team initiative that provides assistance to youth, the homeless and underserved individuals in the metropolitan Washington area. For more information, visit www.WizardsCare.com.
