Take the Pledge

Release Date: Tuesday, February 14th 2012

If your office has not yet employed a telework program, there’s no time like the present to get started, particularly in time for Telework Week 2012, taking place from Monday, March 5 through Friday, March 9. This workplace strategy is not only environmentally friendly, but boosts workplace productivity and morale and helps reduce utility costs. No joke. During last year’s first annual Telework Week, nearly 40,000 individuals pledged to telework, leading to more than 3.76 fewer miles driven and a gain of 148,692 hours to their day. Need to convince the boss? For ideas and helpful resources, visit the Telework Exchange, a public-private partnership focused on eliminating telework gridlock. In addition, goDCgo, a District Department of Transportation (DDOT) initiative, provides information and free sample policies through its complimentary Employer Services program. For information, e-mail info@goDCgo.com or call 202.299.2186. And once the higher-ups are convinced, don’t forget to take the Telework pledge!
